IDTA Activities Include:
  • Providing support and encouragement to meet the needs of practitioners and those in training who are involved in developing individuals, groups, organisations and institutions using developmental TA
  • Serving as a community and sharing point for all who are interested in developmental TA
  • Promoting developmental TA to the public, including to individuals, groups, organisations and institutions
  • Establishing and monitoring ethics and professional practices related to developmental TA
  • Providing a forum for those interested in ethical and professional applications of developmental TA
  • Promoting ongoing research into developmental TA
  • Liaising with appropriate professional bodies to stimulate, initiate and monitor standards of training and supervision being offered to students of developmental TA and of people applying DTA 
  • Liaising with TA bodies providing qualifications and awards
  • Stimulating and monitoring the continuous professional development of its members
  • Organising conferences and events so that developmental TA is disseminated and developed
  • Leading the TA Proficiency Awards worldwide:
                  for Children & Young People (TAPACY) 
                  for Teachers & Educators (TAPATE)
                  for Caregivers & Parents (TAPACM)
                  for Helpers & Assistants (TAPAHA)
